  1. What do you see in the development of natural preservatives?
  2. What natural preservatives do you use in your products and how do you determine thier efficacy during the normal rigors of consumer use?
  3. What can you tell me about consumer opinion of parabens? How much paraben (methyl and propyl) is in Aveda or Burt's Bees products?

When natural preservatives first started to be used, there were many drawbacks - from stability issues to heavy unpleasant or "not on brand" odors.

Recently there have been many advancements and we anticipate that in the near future many more technical formulations and luxurious aesthetics will be achievable due to the improvements.

Stability and anti-microbial testing standards need to be determined for the longterm use of any new preservative system used prior to putting any new formulation into the hands of the consumer.
